After conducting a consultation with a client this morning, we thought it would be a great idea to do a knowledge drop on the art of shaving.
The issue revolved around ingrown hairs which is very common during the shaving process. This occurs when you shave against the direction in which the hair grows. Consequently the hair continues to grow back as usual but becomes trapped underneath the surface. There is nowhere for the hair to go as it continues to grow and irritation follows. The proper technique and skincare regimen was being discussed when it dawned on us. We need a shave direction template handy for clients. Although shave patterns vary on each individual here is a great guideline to reference. Always shave with the grain direction of the hair in order to decrease the chance of an ingrown hair.
