Orange essential oil is a member of the BLT (brighten, lighten & tighten) community in the beauty industry yet its best work is done overnight. Naturally light sensitive, you can typically find it in night time moisturizers and treatment serums. However, it can be used during the daytime if formulated properly. We would also like to mention that Orange oil is not recommended during pregnancy as the test results on the potential negative effects on unborn children is inconclusive. So what benefits does it offer to the skin, body and hair? Let's discuss!

1. Hyperpigmentation- Orange oil is great at balancing the discoloration that may occur as a result of acne scarring, sun damage or genetics in the case of dark cuticles.

2. Oil control- Effectively reduces oil production on the face and scalp.

3.  Acne Relief-Oranges helps eliminate cystic acne after a few weeks of consistent overnight use.

4. Bug Repellent-This works not only on the skin, face and body, but also in your household. Simply combine orange peels with vinegar in a jar for 2 to 3 weeks in the dark. Viola! You've just made a potent bug spray. Place in a spray container and use liberally around the house.

P.S. Orange oil has a short shelf life; so make sure you keep that bug spray in a cool dark place when not in use. Enjoy!
